5-day Challenges
Change up your Maths Moves!
Fun missions that take maths out and about this summer
In this mission we learnt a bit about perhaps the worlds most famous number, Π. During the week, we searched high and and in the strangest places to find pieces of Π in order to save the world from a terrible fate!
Maths is all around you and we use it all the time naturally. But we don't always see it. Our challenges will get you out seeing the maths that has been there all the time. Think of maths as "The Science of patterns and connections" Professor Marcus du Sautoy or as "Finding similarities in different things and differences in similar things.", and you will be ready for these missions.
Both nature and the built environment have lots hiding in them. Find numbers, colours, shapes and many other things...
What makes the things you've found similar to something or different from something? What are the patterns you've noticed? Record your thoughts in speech, photos, drawings or writing
Share your findings with us at the end of the 5 days and we will share with others. We will build up a community resource of summer maths findings.
